This certificate course is designed for the prospective entrepreneur who:

wants to start his or her own business, or

who has an established business and would like to see that business grow and expand, and

for the individual who would like to advance his skills to better manage his/her department within a large organisation.

For a business to be successful and profitable, owners and managers must have a clear understanding of the firm's customers, strengths and competition.

Business planning is an important factor to minimise the risk of failure and to maximise on success. Taking time to create a plan provides you with insight into your business. This course helps the participant to assess the viability of the business, as well as providing students with the tools to plan and execute a business strategy.

The course is held over a 16 week period.

Sessions are held once weekly in the evenings between 18.30 and 20.30

Each session is of 2 hours duration

• Legal Structures of a Business: Sole Trader, Partnerships etc…
• Funding the Business: Capital, State-Aid, Bank Financing
• The Business Plan: Financial and Marketing Issues, Forecasts, Cash Flow
• Strategic Planning: Mission, Vision, Objectives
• Introduction to Advanced Marketing: Competitor Analysis, Porter’s 5 Forces
• E-Commerce
