Philosophy for Children and the Young PDF Print E-mail

Philosophy for Children and the Young (P4C) is a Diploma Course for Parents, Teachers and other professions. The course is especially useful for those individuals who have direct contact whether at work or home with Children or Youths.

The Diploma course teaches you how to empower children and young people with reasoning and argumentative skills. Experience has shown that children benefit from philosophical inquiry even in early primary school. These skills can be further developed during secondary and post-secondary levels.  Following Matthew Lipman's methodology, it is important to start teaching philosophy early.  This prevents older teens and young adults from permanently losing their native curiosity and philosophical skills.

The Diploma course consists of 4 modules, and for each module a certificate is awarded. The Diploma is awarded after successful completion of the 4 modules. One can start at any module, but successful completion of the 4 modules is necessary for the award of the diploma

The Diploma course is split into several modules and will be starting in May 2009.
